And now, a word about the dress code for our Gala dinners: members will be aware that we observe a code of dress in order to maintain the dignity and aura of celebration which complements the dedication which those who prepare the splendid meal really deserve. Since the foundation of the Baillage de Coree the code has been strictly, "Chaine of Office and black tie for men, long gown for ladies". Sadly, this code has begun to fall into disuse at a few recent events. Some members have actually complained about falling standards. So please understand how important we believe observance to be. "Black tie" does mean Tuxedo or Dinner Jacket for our European members. Long gown does not mean pants, cocktail dress or suit for ladies.
We will be very happy to refer anyone not owning a tuxedo to a reliable rental establishment.
Please let us keep the occasion of our gala dinners worthy of our traditions of excellence!
Respectfully yours,
Alan Timblick
